Yesterday, Dan and I went to London (N17) to pick up a new mixer (more about this later). So, bar getting a bit lost, we get to this fella's house.
After some looking around, we find 'Angelica Court', turn into the carpark, to find about 20 people hanging around. Now, this is where the 'prejudice' begins, you see, these people would be described as 'inner city youths'. They were aged between 15 - 20, varying in Race, listening to loud music.
So I call the guy, he comes out to meet us, we go to his apartment, I like the mixer and buy it. Now in my mind is "I'm carrying an extreemly expensive piece of equipment, THROUGH 20 'inner city youths' - this is going to be interesting." Somewhere in my mind was the thought; I'm going to get shot.
So Dan and I move briskly to the car and put the mixer in.
Great, we're still alive, and we havent been mugged.
This is where i began to think more clearly, the guys were very polite and opened the door for me. The music blaring out of their stereo, was classical. We stood amazed for several seconds as it dawned on us, they were ballroom dancing - there were 4 couples, and they were choreographing a routine to this beautiful music - in a carpark, in a rundown council estate, in North London.
I'm ashamed of myself, to be honest. I can only pray and try to be more open minded and have clearer judgement in the future.
