Tell me the reason for THIS season

Ok, I don't mean Winter, I think it's winter but you can never really be sure. At the moment theres a lot of change going on, and a lot of those who are close to me are going through stuff which is really challenging them and their faith.

I too have had a time of change, having to move out of my flat and back in with my parents was and is ... well, a challenge. So I turned to Job, and read the following (this is from the message)...

Sometime later, while Job's children were having one of their parties at the home of the oldest son, a messenger came to Job and said, "The oxen were plowing and the donkeys grazing in the field next to us when Sabeans attacked. They stole the animals and killed the field hands. I'm the only one to get out alive and tell you what happened."

While he was still talking, another messenger arrived and said, "Bolts of lightning struck the sheep and the shepherds and fried them—burned them to a crisp. I'm the only one to get out alive and tell you what happened."

While he was still talking, another messenger arrived and said, "Chaldeans coming from three directions raided the camels and massacred the camel drivers. I'm the only one to get out alive and tell you what happened."

While he was still talking, another messenger arrived and said, "Your children were having a party at the home of the oldest brother when a tornado swept in off the desert and struck the house. It collapsed on the young people and they died. I'm the only one to get out alive and tell you what happened."

Job got to his feet, ripped his robe, shaved his head, then fell to the ground and worshiped:

Naked I came from my mother's womb,
naked I'll return to the womb of the earth.
God gives, God takes.
God's name be ever blessed.

He fell to the ground and Worshipped. Wow.

Things arent that bad that I'm going to rip my clothes and shave my head, I suspect that may have been a custom for greiving loved ones, but nevertheless, all i have left to say in this blog is, wheres my guitar?

One God, One Life

I've been challenged recently with lots of things that have been hitting me left, right and centre.

To sum it up, I think as Christians, we need to remember that there isn't 1000's of churches, there's ONE church, God's church.

A little Cliche you might say? Well, maybe it is...but you know what, I don't care! Here comes another Cliche...We need to stand up for whats right, WWJD? How often do we really ask ourselves that? How often do we open our bibles to say Corinthians or Acts looking for advice for situations that we are facing....for me, not often enough.

We need to remember that Sex, Drugs and Rock n Roll has been around as long as man himself, well maybe not Rock n Roll, but you get my point, so the bible really is a good place to look for inspiration. Neither is Gossip a new thing...The tools of the devil haven't changed in 2000 years.

Personally I find that incredible, to me that means that this stuff I'm facing has been faced by others before me, and overcome trillions of times. With that in mind, I'm gonna live my One Life on earth sold out for God. Ok, so that means no sex for another couple of years, amoungst a million other things that the media bombards me with every day, but as long as I surround myself with good friends I know its going to be easier than if I was alone, and as long as I focus on God, the end result is actually possible.
